Luke was a doctor whose research on Jesus portrays His heart for the lost, the poor, the disabled, and the undervalued, such as women and children. This is illustrated primarily through the miracles, testimonies and parables that are unique to the Gospel of Luke. These include Mary becoming the mother of Jesus; the one leper returning to thank Jesus; and the parables of the Good Samaritan, the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son.
