Saturday, December 18 | Luke 2:8-10

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.

Jesus came to bring great joy for all people. Father God may this Christmas open up more hearts to the wonderful joy of knowing Jesus. May we see more people come to know you through the ministry of Church of the Messiah. In Jesus' name.

Yesterday I commented on the Lord’s ways. In tis passage, here is an example. The Lord declares the end from the beginning. the Holy Spirit tells you at the outset where He is going and we are invited to walk with Him. He doesn’t tell us all we will encounter on the path. From the moment Christ was born, angels declared that mankind was heading for joy- and not just any joy butt joy unspeakable and full of glory. The path has been narrow and like our kida on a road trip we keep asking,”Are we there yet?” He is telling us to look at the signs!

As a former English teacher, I get “F” for spelling. I count at least 3 misspelled words. I broke the rule of proofread before you turn in the paper.

This is so important that God’s angels announced this great news to the bottom of society first. It is for all the world from the bottom up!
