Lord as we celebrate the mystery of the Incarnation may we be freshly "amazed" about this child who has become Our Savior. Thank you, Jesus, for becoming fully human, even a helpless baby who could not hold up His own head, to save us from our sins.

Paul prayed for the church that the Holy Spirit would open the eyes of our understanding that we would know our calling, His inheritance in us, and the power that we have through the indwelling Spirit. May each of us submit to the Spirit ‘s forming the answer to that prayer in us. Then as we bear witness to what we have seen, those who hear will be amazed!

Spreading the news of a miracle birth spread quickly. No one could imagine such words from shepherds but it spread. Can you imagine the consternation of the Pharisee and Rabbis just a few miles up the road in Jerusalem?
